Readora Privacy Policy Effective date: October 7, 2026

Developer: Qdafengzi Contact: qdafengzi@gmail.com

Readora is a local document and ebook reader. This policy explains how information is accessed, used, retained and deleted. No account is required. The app does not include advertising or behavioral analytics SDKs, upload your documents or reading history to a developer server, or sell personal information.

  1. Information accessed and used To scan your library, display documents and covers, and restore reading positions, Readora processes the following on your device:

PDF, EPUB, MOBI, AZW/AZW3, DOCX, XLS/XLSX and PPTX files you select or open from another app, and supported files inside folders you authorize. Document contents, names, types, sizes, modification times, covers, directory structure, and file or folder addresses supplied by Android. Reading pages and chapter positions, recently opened files, themes, fonts, layout preferences and app settings. Temporary files and caches used for covers, document rendering and MOBI/KF8 conversion. Passwords you enter to unlock encrypted PDFs, used for the current document and not saved as account credentials.

  1. File access and permissions Readora reads files through the Android system picker and content access granted by other apps. It does not request all-files storage access, photo library, camera, microphone, contacts or location permissions. Choosing a folder allows access to supported documents within the authorized scope, not a scan of your entire device.

Where a provider supports persistent access, Readora saves a read-only grant. Removing a folder from the library releases its saved grant. Clearing app data in Android settings removes locally saved app records. Temporary grants may expire after the app or device restarts, requiring you to select the file again.

Included dependencies declare the normal ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE and WAKE_LOCK permissions, which provide network-state checking and background processing capabilities. They are not document access grants and do not trigger a file permission dialog. AndroidX also declares an app-specific signature permission to restrict internal broadcast receivers. The current version does not declare the INTERNET permission.

  1. Local processing and external services Document parsing, ebook conversion and reading take place locally. Office rendering components are bundled with the app. Readora has no developer server receiving your documents or reading history and does not share that content with advertisers or data brokers.

If you choose a cloud file in the system picker, the file provider may use its own network connection to retrieve it under its own privacy policy. Offline reading requires the selected file to be available on your device.

Contact links or external links open your chosen email or browser app. Email and attachments you voluntarily send are processed by your email provider and used by the developer to respond to and address your request. Please avoid including unnecessary sensitive files.

  1. Retention, backup and deletion Preferences, library records and reading positions remain in private app storage until you reset the relevant settings, clear app data or uninstall the app. Caches are cleared according to app cache policies and can also be cleared through Android settings. Removing a library folder does not erase all historical reading records.

The current version allows Android system backup. Depending on your device and account settings, some private app data may be backed up or restored through system backup or device transfer. These processes are managed by the operating system or backup provider, not an upload service operated by Readora. Clearing local app data does not necessarily delete existing system backups; manage those through the relevant service.

Clearing app data or uninstalling Readora does not delete original documents in the folders you selected. There are no app accounts, so no in-app account deletion process is required.

  1. Third-party components and diagnostics Readora uses components including PDFium, Readium, MMKV, docx-preview and SheetJS for local reading and storage. It does not include advertising, tracking or developer-controlled crash-upload SDKs. Android or Google Play may provide system diagnostics or crash reports according to your platform settings and their own policies.

  2. Security The app uses Android private storage and system file grants, limits access to original documents, and restricts the access available to embedded reading pages. No device or storage method is completely secure. Please protect your device and any system backup accounts.

  3. Children’s privacy Readora does not actively collect age information or seek personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to the developer, please contact the address below.

  4. Changes and contact If app features or information practices change, we will update this policy and its effective date. For privacy questions or requests concerning information you voluntarily sent by email, including deletion requests, contact qdafengzi@gmail.com.
